Women's Tennis Drop Heartbreaker to Stanford

WEYMOUTH, Mass. – The Boston College women's tennis team (8-8, 0-6 ACC) battled to the end but unfortunately fell, 4-3, to Stanford (8-6, 4-2 ACC) Sunday afternoon at the Weymouth Club.

Boston College showed resilience throughout the match, highlighted by strong performances at the top and bottom of the singles lineup. Stanford ultimately secured the deciding point late in singles play.

The Eagles came out strong in doubles, winning two of three matches. The duo of Olivia Benton and Leyden Games secured a 7-5 victory at No. 2, while Tola Glowacka and Bella Camacho added a 6-3 win at No. 3. The Eagles took the doubles point headed into singles play.

In singles, Boston College continued to compete across the lineup. Nadia Barteck was dominant at No. 6, cruising to a 6-2, 6-0 victory over Emma Sun to give the Eagles their second point of the day. Benton delivered a straight-set win at No. 1 singles, defeating Nationally Ranked Monika Ekstrand, 6-4, 6-4.Â

After Stanford built a 3-2 lead with wins at Nos. 2, 3, and 4, the match came down to the final match, singles No. 5. Boston College pushed for a comeback, but the Cardinal clinched the match with a win at No. 5 singles to record a 4-3 victory
