
Eagles Challenging For Top Five At Cougar Classic

CHARLESTON, S.C. – After two rounds of play, the Boston College Eagles sit in seventh place (563) at 5-under par at the Cougar Classic. The Eagles opened with a team score of 284 to finish even-par before registering a 279 in the second round. Half the field sits under par, with five of the nine teams at least 10-under par.
Graduate student Tiffany Cao (70-66=136) was Boston College's highest finisher after rounds 1 and 2, as she currently sits in a six-way tie for second place. Cao, in her first event for the Eagles, recorded an opening-round score of 70 to go 1-under before scoring a 66 in the second round. Her round 2 scorecard included five birdies and zero bogeys.
Graduate student Cynthia Zhang (69-68=137) also sits in the top 10, tied for eighth place. Zhang registered an opening round score of 69 to go 2-under, extending her tally to 5-under after recording three birdies and zero bogeys in the second round.
Following are senior Emily Böhrer (71-74=145) and junior Frances Kim (74-71=145), who are both tied for 52nd at 3-over par. Junior Sophie Bierstorfer (76-76=152) rounds out the Boston College Lineup in a tie for 85th at 10-over par.
The Eagles will be paired with the College of Charleston and Virginia Tech for the third and final round of action, beginning at 8:45 a.m. with a shotgun start.
