
Women's Basketball Adds Lacrosse Standout Emma LoPinto to Program

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Boston College women's basketball head coach Joanna Bernabei-McNamee is excited to add Emma LoPinto to the roster after a stellar lacrosse career and two seasons with BC.
"Emma is a fiery competitor and a proven winner who brings a championship mindset to our program," said head coach Joanna Bernabei-McNamee. Coming from Boston College's national title lacrosse team, she knows what it takes to win at the highest level. Her toughness, leadership, and relentless energy will elevate everyone around her."
LoPinto enjoyed a solid basketball career at Manhasset High School, eclipsing 1,000 career points, and was a two-time all-county selection. She was an all-conference and an all-tournament honoree as well.
The New York native is coming off two successful seasons with lacrosse, where she racked up 136 goals, 36 assists, and 199 points. The newcomer for women's basketball helped BC capture an ACC title, a national championship, and a record of 39-6.
"I am so proud of Emma and all of her athletic accomplishments, and most of all, who she is as a person and as a leader," said Schiller Family Head Coach Acacia Walker-Weinstein. I'm thrilled to see what she does with BC women's basketball, and I'm grateful to the coaching staff for giving her this opportunity."
LoPinto was a consensus All-American and All-ACC both seasons, while making the top 25 Tewaaraton Watch List. She finished her final campaign with a career-high 113 points, 78 goals, and 35 assists, ending the year second among active leaders with 386 points and 261 goals.
