Five Men's Golfers Selected to All-ACC Academic Team

BC golfers honored for their work in the classroom
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. — Five Boston College men's golfers were honored by the Atlantic Coast Conference for their academic excellence.
Christian Emmerich, Ben Hong, Tommy Mangan, Jack Pogorelc, and Brian Xu were named to the 2025 All-ACC Academic Men's Golf Team. Â A total of 61 student-athletes from 15 ACC programs were recognized.Â
Emmerich appeared in eight tournaments in 2024-25, registering an adjusted stroke average of 74.1 over 24 rounds of play. Â He logged two top 10 finishes, including finishing sixth at the Red Bandanna Invitational and tying for eighth at the Shark Invitational.
Hong finished the 2024-25 campaign with an adjusted scoring average of 71.7 through 27 rounds of play. Â The senior earned two victories on the season - capturing the Red Bandanna Invitational in a playoff over Lam to open the fall season and the Shark Invitational during the spring. Â Hong registered three top three finishes, and six top 15 finishes.
In his first collegiate season, Mangan made eight starts (24 rounds). Â With an adjusted scoring average of 75.2, he registered two top 15 performances - at the Nassau Intercollegiate in the fall and at the Bandon Dunes Championship in the spring.
Pogorelc played in all nine events (27 rounds) in 2024-25, with an adjusted scoring average of 73.6. Â He finished no lower than 11th during the fall, led by his finish at the Nassau Intercollegiate (t6th). Â He tied for third at the Shark Invitational in the spring.
Xu made eight starts and played 24 rounds for the Eagles, with an adjusted scoring mark of 75.3 per round. Â His best finish of the season came at the Shark Invitational in the spring, tying for eighth place.

- A minimum 3.0 grade-point average in the most recent semester
