Fencing Earns All-ACC Academic Honors

19 members of the Fencing team earn All-ACC Academic Honors on Thursday
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Atlantic Coast Conference announced the 2025 Men's and Women's Fencing All-Academic teams on Thursday afternoon. The Eagles had 19 honorees, 10 from the Men's team and nine from the Women's team.Â
In order to be selected to the All-ACC Academic Teams, the athletes must have a 3.0 grade point average for the fall semester and a 3.0 cumulative average during their academic career. The student-athletes must also have competed in either the ACC Fencing Championships or the NCAA Fencing Championships.
The Boston College Men's Fencing team had 10 athletes named to the All-ACC Academic team. Of the 10 athletes honored, eight earned a grade point average of 3.3 or higher, while seven of the 10 had a 3.5 or higher.Â
William Xu led the way in the classroom for the Eagles, earning a Fall semester grade point average of 3.876.Â
Xu, a native of Los Altos, Calif., is currently pursuing a degree in Management and Computer Science. The freshman participated at the 2025 ACC Fencing Championships, where he placed 12th overall in the Men's Sabre Competition. Xu also competed at the 2025 NCAA Northeast Regional, placing 23rd in the Men's Sabre.Â
The Boston College Women's Fencing team had nine athletes named to the All-ACC Academic team. Of the nine athletes honored, seven earned a grade point average of 3.3 or higher, while four of the nine had a 3.5 or higher.Â
Anisha Kundu led the way in the classroom for the Eagles, earning a Fall semester grade point average of 3.866.Â
Kundu, a native of Sudbury, Mass., is currently pursuing his degree in Management and Environmental Studies. The senior participated at the 2025 ACC Fencing Championships and the NCAA Northeast Regional. Kundu participated in the Women's Epee competition at both meets and placed 15th overall at ACC Championships, while placing 52nd at NCAA Regionals.
