Rowing 2V4+ Places Second in Petite Final

Second Varsity 4+ earns second place in V4+ Petite Final
SARASOTA, Fla. – Boston College's second Varsity 4+ boat earned second place in the 2V4 Petite Final in the Sunshine State Invitational Saturday morning following the two day race series.
"Great to go down the course three times!" said head coach Grace Hollowell. "I think all crews built speed over the weekend and now we have things to take with us and work on this week as we look towards the SJU invitational this weekend. We were in the thick of racing against tough competition, we are looking toward fine tuning in the weeks to come to find another gear!"
The Eagles closed the two day Sunshine State Invitational earning a second place finish in the 2V4 Petite Final with their second Varsity 4+ boat. The second Varsity 4+, coxed by Kendra Schmidt with rowers Chloe Wilkinson, Claire Piacentini, Neave Anderson and Quinn Baker finished with a time of 7:49.95, earning a second place finish. Alabama A posted a winning time of 7:42.51.
The Varsity 8+ got the Eagles started, coxed by Madelyn Stevens with rowers Lucy Barratt, Lauren Bauer, Rachelle Papineau, Lauren Meath, Jennie Sherwood, Leighton Smith, Leighton Davis and Grace Yi. Boston College finished the course in a time of 6:43.61. Alabama posted a winning time of 6:36.14.
The Second Varsity 8+, a team of coxswain Caroline Jennings, and rowers Lauren Schramm, Jill Reichenbach, Sierra Ross, Brooke Picazio, Lauren Craven, Jennie Sherwood, Erin Smith and Kirsten Thorn posted a time of 6:58.60. The victorious Kansas posted a time of 6:53.08.
The first Varsity 4+, coxed by Lucy Fortner with rowers Ruby Barnett, Amelia Sanger, Jo McTamney and Elizabeth Cobb, finished at 7:47.52. Alabama posted a time of 7:25.97.
The V4+ home races for the Charles River Racing Series #2 were canceled.
