Leonard Named Hockey East Player of the Year; Four Eagles Named First Team All-Stars

Fowler named the Goaltender of the Year, while Powell earned the Best Defensive Defenseman Award
AMESBURY, Mass. – Hockey East completed its release of end of season awards for men's hockey, which included the announcement of Ryan Leonard as the Hockey East Player of the Year. Additionally, Jacob Fowler was named the Stop It Goaltending Goaltender of the Year, while Eamon Powell earned the Best Defensive Defenseman Award. In total, four Eagles were named Hockey East First Team All-Stars and a pair of freshmen earned spots on the Pro Ambitions All-Rookie Team.

Leonard, also the league's scoring champion and Three Stars Award recipient, was a unanimous selection on the first team after leading the league in scoring with 37 points on a league-high 25 goals and 12 assists. The sophomore tallied eight game-winning goals on his way to becoming the 13th Eagle to win Player of the Year and first since Spencer Knight (2021).

Fowler joins Leonard on the first team as a unanimous selection after winning Goaltender of the Year for the second-straight year. The Florida native led Hockey East in wins (16), goals against average (1.58), save percentage (.945) and shutouts (5). Powell earns his first Hockey East First Team All-Star nod after posting 15 points, a plus-16 rating and 21 blocks in 20 league games played this season.

Rounding out the first team selections was Gabe Perreault, who finished fourth in the league in points (31) and second in assists (22).

James Hagens and Teddy Stiga were selected to the rookie team after they both finished with 19 points during league play in their first season with the Eagles.
