Drew Kayser Named 2025 Labron Harris Sr. Award Recipient
December 10, 2025 | Men's Golf, Women's Golf
First ACC Head Coach to win the award since 2018
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Boston College Golf Director and Head Coach Drew Kayser was presented the Labron Harris Sr. Award by the Golf Coaches Association of America in cooperation with the PGA of America Wednesday afternoon.
The Labron Harris Sr. Award recognizes a college or high school coach and Class A PGA Professional who supports the growth of golf through teaching, coaching, and community involvement, and who exemplifies the game's finest qualities. Kayser is the 22nd overall and fourth ACC coach to receive the honor.
"As both an NCAA coach and PGA Golf Professional, receiving the prestigious Labron Harris Sr. Award is an extraordinary honor, one that reflects not only my own efforts but the shared commitment of Boston College Athletics and the New England PGA," said Kayser. "Coach Harris' legacy reminds us that true coaching extends far beyond competition - it is about shaping character, elevating standards, and guiding young athletes to discover the very best in themselves."
With over 30 years of experience in teaching and coaching golf, Drew Kayser has built Boston College Men's and Women's Golf into dominant programs in the Northeast since taking the helm as head coach in 2012.
From 2008-11, Kayser served as an assistant coach at Boston College. During this time, he also worked as the Head Golf Professional at Belmont Country Club, just outside Boston. Since joining BC Golf, he has consistently recruited top players from New England, the United States, and internationally.
Kayser has amassed the most tournament wins in Boston College Golf history, far exceeding the program's combined total. This season, he's helped the men's and women's programs combine for three tournament wins and three individual championships.
Kayser is a PGA Master Professional of Instruction, one of two in New England and 37 nationwide with Specialty Certification in Instruction. He became a PGA member in 1998 and earned the Master Professional distinction—the PGA's highest education—in 2005. That year, he was one of 32 nationally, and one of 12 in the past 30 years, chosen for the PGA of America's Professional Golf Management Faculty. For 14 years, he trained aspiring golf professionals through skill-based programs as a faculty member.
"This award reaffirms my belief that when we lead with integrity, generosity, and purpose, we not only honor the past but help frame the future of the game we love," Kayser continued. "I am deeply humbled to receive this recognition, and it strengthens my dedication to serving Boston College, the NEPGA community, and the student-athletes who trust us with their growth both on and off the course."
