
Thomas Scores Overtime Winner as Eagles Defeat St. Lawrence, 3–2

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. — Freshman Ava Thomas scored 16 seconds into overtime to lift Boston College to a 3–2 win over St. Lawrence on Friday evening at Kelley Rink. Senior goaltender Grace Campbell stopped 33 shots in the non-conference victory.
Boston College opened the scoring early, as Kate Ham struck at 3:51 of the first period off a pass from Sammy Taber. After a scoreless second frame, the Eagles doubled their lead just 1:16 into the third when Maxim Tremblay finished a setup from Ava Thomas to make it 2–0.
St. Lawrence responded with two unanswered goals to force overtime. The Saints cut the deficit to 2–1 at 5:13 of the third, then tied the game on the power play at 8:39. Campbell made the final 10 saves of regulation to keep the game level heading into overtime.
BC ended the game quickly in overtime. Ava Thomas collected a pass from Madelyn Murphy and scored 16 seconds into the extra period, securing the 3–2 win with her 10th goal of the season.
Boston College generated 32 shots on goal, with Thomas and Tremblay each recording six. The Eagles also blocked 17 shots, led by Cailin Flynn and Jade Arnone with four apiece.
