
Continued Excellence: Boston College Athletics Among Leaders in Graduation Success Rate

BC ranks tied for third among all FBS schools with a GSR of 97
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Boston College Athletics continues to rank among the nation's top academic programs, according to the latest NCAA Graduation Success Rate figures released Nov. 19.
With an overall GSR of 97, Boston College is tied for second in the Atlantic Coast Conference across all sports. Among Football Bowl Subdivision schools, BC ranks third nationally behind Northwestern (99) and Notre Dame (99). Among all Division I programs, Boston College is tied for 17th. BC football ranked third amongst ACC Football programs with a GSR of 96, trailing only Wake Forest (99) and Clemson (98).
The NCAA's Division I GSR was 90% for the 2015–18 cohorts. Since the metric's inception, Boston College has earned an overall mark of 94 or better in all 20 GSR reports, dating back to the class of student-athletes who entered in 1998.
In total, 18 BC programs recorded a perfect GSR of 100: men's cross country/track and field, women's cross country/track and field, men's fencing, women's fencing, field hockey, men's golf, women's golf, women's hockey, lacrosse, men's skiing, women's skiing, men's soccer, women's soccer, men's swimming and diving, women's swimming and diving, men's tennis, women's tennis and volleyball. Each of BC's programs listed in the report scored a GSR of 86 or higher, all above their respective national averages.

"The institution's continued success in graduating student-athletes reflects our commitment to student formation and care for the whole person."
The update is based on information from the 2025 NCAA Graduation Rate Report, which provides graduation data for students and student-athletes who entered from fall 2015 through fall 2018. These are the most recent graduating classes for which six years of data are available. Graduation rate percentages are based on the number of students who entered a college or university compared to the number who graduated within six years. The four-class average includes those who entered as freshmen in 2015–16, 2016–17, 2017–18 and 2018–19.
