Yani Zhong Named ACC Offensive Player of the Week

Zhong Leads the Conference in Points Through Six Games
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Boston College's Yani Zhong has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Field Hockey Offensive Player of the Week, while Syracuse goalkeeper Vera Hekkenberg claimed league's Defensive Player of the Week honors.

Zhong scored three goals throughout two games for the Eagles this past weekend, including two against Maine on Friday, September 13. Both of Zhong's goals against the Black Bears came off of penalty corners as she helped propel BC to its second-highest scoring effort of the season. Through six games, Zhong leads the ACC with 12 total points on the season, while splitting the conference lead in goals with five.Â
Zhong has started each of the Eagles six games this season, recording two multi-goal games.
