Eagles land at No. 2 in USTFCCCA Preseason Regional Poll

Women's Cross Country earn highest preseason regional ranking since 2014
NEW ORLEANS, La. – Boston College women's cross country enters the 2024 season ranked No. 2 in the Northeast region according to the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) northeast region preseason poll as announced on Monday afternoon.
The USTFCCCA released its regional preseason polls and BC's No. 2 ranking is the highest for the program in a decade. The Women's team has ranked top 10 in the preseason regional poll eight of the last 10 years, top five four of the last 10 years, and top three on three occasions.Â
The Eagles are coming off a 2023 campaign where they finished second overall at the 2023 NCAA Cross Country Northeast Regional Championship, en route to a 26th place finish at the NCAA Cross Country Championship. The second place finish at regionals was the best for the Eagles since 2011, when they also placed second overall. Boston College was also ranked on the USTFCCCA poll for the first time since the 2020 season, entering at No. 26.
