The Third Varsity 8+ Defeated the Terriers on the Charles
BOSTON – The Eagles faced off Boston University and Bates in the annual Gummy Bear Bowl Sunday morning.Â
The morning was overcast with temperatures in the upper 40s, varying wind speeds reached as high as 12 miles per hour.
The Varsity 8+ got the morning started for the Eagles coxed by Madelyn Stevens, Larrabee Pollack, Lauren Schramm, Lauren Meath, Lucy Barratt, Lauren Bauer, Carly Griffin, Peyton Smith, and Sasha Bocek finished the 2,000-meter course in a time of 6:56.4. The BU Lightweight Varsity 8+ had a winning time of 6:50.9. The Bates Bobcats followed behind with a time of 7:23.4.
In the Second Varsity 8+, the team of coxswain Sophie Fawcett, Phoebe DeVlieger, Brooke Picazio, Kiki Stoker, Molly Devine, Rachele Papineau, Jennie Sherwood, Amanda Hall, and Erin Smith posted a time of 7:11.5.
The Varsity 4+ squad of coxswain Chloe Reisinger, Ruby Barnett, Emma Smirl, Sierra Ross, and Curran McLaughlin finished in a time of 7:58.2, while the Second Varsity 4+ team of coxswain Lindsey Belgrad, Jess DiPietrantonio, Amelia Sanger, Lauren Craven, and Chloe Wilkinson finished in 8:13.1.
The Third Varsity 8+ defeated the Terriers by 11.2 seconds. The crew of coxswain Ellie Kirk, Olivia Hankey, Grace Bohan, Elliana Steely, Charlotte Cochener, Hannah Cochener, Claire Piacentini, and Neave Anderson dominated with a time of 7:26.o the Eagles Fourth Varsity 8+ was right behind the Terriers with a times of 7:45.4
