Men's Tennis Drops Season Finale to Louisville

Eagles fall to the Cardinals 6-1 on Sunday
WEYMOUTH, Mass. – The Eagles (5-15, 0-12 ACC) dropped the final regular season match of the season to Louisville (14-13, 3-9 ACC), falling 6-1 on Sunday. Boston College honored its five seniors, Juan Jose Bianchi, Matt Campbell, Shreekar Eedara, Will Kasten, and Bennett Turner, for their tenure on the heights.
The Eagles would drop the first doubles match to the Cardinals 6-3, but bounced back by earning a victory in the second match. Juan Jose Bianchi and Jake Vassel defeated Will Mayew and Enrique Pena of Louisville 6-4 to tie things up at 1 going into the final match. Louisville would proceed to take the doubles point after winning the third doubles match 6-4.
Louisville would carry the momentum into the singles round, winning four straight matches in straight sets. Jake Vassel stopped the Cardinals run, defeating Will Mayew of Louisville to earn Boston College a point. Vassel bounced back to win the second set and force a tiebreaker set after dropping the first set. He would go on to win 1-0 to earn a point for the Eagles. Mai Gao kept it close with Kosuke Nakanishi of Louisville in the first set, falling 7-6. Gao would drop the second set to Nakanish 6-3 to secure Louisville's 6-1 win.
