Women's Tennis Drops 6-1 Decision to No. 18 Duke
March 03, 2024 | Women's Tennis
Marice Aguiar defeats No. 80-ranked singles player
DURHAM, N.C. – The Boston College women's tennis team (6-6, 1-4 ACC) fell short in its second top-ranked road test this weekend, dropping a 6-1 contest to No. 18 Duke (8-4 , 2-2 ACC) on Sunday.
The Eagles struggled to halt the Duke's momentum after dropping the doubles point, as the Blue Devils opened singles competition with four consecutive wins in straight sets.
Marice Aguiar answered by taking down the No. 80 singles player in the country Shavit Kimchi in a 3-6, 6-2, 1-0 (13-11) super tiebreaker.Â
Seren Agar also forced a third set in the No. 6 singles match, eventually falling short 7-6 (9-7), 5-7, 1-0 (10-5) after a valiant comeback effort.
