Luca Berman, Levi Hughes, and Elijah Onik earn top-20 placements at NCAA Championships
COLUMBUS, Ohio – Luca Berman, Levi Hughes, and Elijah Onik competed at the 2024 NCAA Fencing Championships over the weekend of Mar. 23-24 in Columbus, Ohio on the campus of the Ohio State University.Â
Junior Levi Hughes finished in 13th place overall in Men's Epee. Hughes finished with 11 victories in 23 bouts against some of the top fencers in the country. He wrapped up his junior season in which he earned third place at NCAA Northeast Regionals and the bronze medal at the ACC Championships. Hughes also earned first team honors for the USFCA Northeast All-Region team.
Freshman Luca Berman placed 16th overall in Men's Sabre, finishing with 10 victories in 23 bouts. Berman completes his impressive freshman year that includes two ninth place finishes at the ACC Fencing Championships and the NCAA Northeast Regionals, while also earning honorable mention for the USFCA Northeast All-Region team.  Â
Freshman Elijah Onik finished 18th overall in Men's Foil, earning 10 victories in 23 bouts. Onik's Freshman campaign includes a second place finish in Men's Foil at the 2024 NCAA Northeast Regionals, a top-ten finish at NCAA Regionals, and first team honors for the USFCA Northeast All-Region team.
Boston College 16th overall as a team with 31 points. Harvard took home the national championship with 169 points, beating out second place Notre Dame (161).Â
