
Eagles Earn USTFCCCA All-Academic Honors

Emma Tavella Earns All-Academic individual honors, while the Men's and Women's teams were named All-Academic teams
NEW ORLEANS, La. — Lily Flynn and Emma Tavella were named to the 2023 USTFCCCA All-Academic team, while both the Men's and Women's teams were honored as All-Academic teams on Thursday afternoon by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.Â
Graduate Students Lily Flynn and Emma Tavella were named to the USTFCCCA All-Academic team along with top student athletes in the sport from all across the country. In order to qualify, student-athletes must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.25 on a 4.0 scale and finish in the top-25 at the NCAA Regional Championships or as an All-American at the NCAA Championships. Both student athletes have made their mark in the classroom and on the course for the Eagles since transferring to BC for the 2023-24 season. Tavella earned a 3.835 GPA for the fall semester, while pursuing her masters in Sports Administration. Flynn is pursing her masters of finance, and achieved a fall semester GPA of 3.5.Â
The Boston College Men's and Women's teams were honored as 2023 USTFCCCA All-Academic Teams. To qualify, teams must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, including the most recent grading period. Boston College Men's Cross Country team compiled a GPA of 3.249, while the Women's team 3.38 GPA. Both teams are led by head coach Pete Watson, who has made an immediate impact of the program since joining the Eagles in the Summer of 2022.Â
