Eagles Fall to Tar Heels in ACC Championship Game

BC turns their attention to the NCAA tournament
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The third-seeded Eagles (14-6) fell to the No. 1 seed UNC Tar Heels (18-0) by a score of 4-1 in the ACC Championship game on Friday afternoon.
Neither team got on the board in the first quarter, as UNC attempted one shot on goal, which was stopped by Charlotte Kramer. Charly Bruder struck first for the Tar Heels early in the second on a penalty corner. 10 minutes later, UNC added another goal on a corner, as Ciana Riccardo notched her first of the season.
In the third quarter, the Tar Heels were awarded a penalty stroke, which was capitalized on by Sanne Hack. Early in the fourth, Ryleigh Heck added another one for UNC for her 13th of the year. With 30 seconds to play, the Eagles got on the board on a penalty corner, as Peyton Hale's shot was tipped in by Klara Mueffelmann. Charlotte Kramer recorded five saves, while Yani Zhong had a defensive save.
