
Fencing Set to Host 2024 Beanpot

Eagles will host The Beanpot on Wednesday night at the Margot Connell Rec. Center
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – The Boston College Fencing team hosts Brandeis, Harvard, and MIT for the 2024 Beanpot on Nov. 13 at the Margot Connell Recreation Center. Â

The Eagles traveled to Philadelphia on Oct. 26-27 to compete in the Coach Nikki Franke Classic, hosted by Temple University. The Coach Nikki Franke Classic is a tournament where many of the top teams and fencers compete against each other to prepare for the season ahead. The tournament had three events for both the Men and Women; Epee, Foil, and Sabre.
Key Moments For the EaglesÂ
The Eagles will open up their season on Wednesday night as they take on Brandeis, Harvard and MIT. The meet will start at 6:15 p.m., and each team will face the other two teams throughout the night.Â
The schedule for the tournament will be as follows:
Round 1. 6:15 PM: BC vs. Harvard / MIT vs. Brandeis
Round 2. 7:05 PM :Â BC vs. MIT / Harvard vs. Brandeis
Round 3. 8:00 PM : BC vs. Brandeis / Harvard vs. MIT
Coach Brendan Doris-Pierce on the meet: "We're excited to kick off the dual meet portion of our season this Wednesday. The team has been training hard gearing up for competition against some of our strongest opposition and oldest rivals. The BC Student Body has always been incredibly supportive of our team and I'm excited for the energy they'll bring Wednesday night."Â

- Luca Berman was the top finisher throughout the weekend for the Eagles, placing first overall in Men's Sabre. Ryan Wong (13th) and Lukas Eichhorn (t.18) both finished in the top-20 in this event.Â
- Elijah Onik and Daniel Gao both finished top-five in their events, while three other eagles placed in the top-20 of Men's Foil and Men's Epee. Onik finished fifth in Men's Foil and Gao landed at fifth in Men's Epee.Â
- Cameron Cho had the highest overall finish on the Women's side, finishing eighth in Women's Foil. Greta DeBack (12th) and Taylor Sartori (18th) both also placed in the top-20.Â
