Benton Qualifies for NCAA Individual Championships

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Boston College women's tennis team competed in the ITA New England Regional Championship this weekend, as freshman Olivia Benton competed in the singles finals and the doubles duo of Natalie Eordekian and Tola Glowacka battled in the semifinals.

In singles play both Benton and Eordekian qualified for the semifinals match, competing against one another. Benton took the match in three sets by scores of, 4-6, 6-3, and 6-3. Olivia advanced to the finals facing off ACC competitor Syracuses' Serafima Shastova. In the final Shastova captured the first 6-1, Benton responded in the second forcing the match to a third set on a score of 6-1. In a back and forth final set, Shastova won, 6-3.

The junior and sophomore team of Eordekian and Glowacka made the most noise in the doubles competition for the Eagles winning their round of quarterfinals 8-4 against Syracuse. In the semi final contest, BC fell short to Harvard in the semifinal round, 6-0 and 6-4.
