CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – The Boston College women's tennis team is set to kick off its 2024 spring season tomorrow with a local matchup against Harvard. The match will take place in Cambridge, Mass. at 4:30 p.m.
The Eagles are coming off a strong fall campaign, with a pair of singles players earning spots in the Super Regionals Tournament, and Marice Aguiar competing in the Main Singles Draw of the ITA All-American Championships.
Aguiar enters the 2024 campaign following a trip to the Round of 16 in the Northeast Super Regionals. The No. 1 singles slot finished the fall season 5-3 and also showed out in doubles competition, posting a 6-0 record (4-0 alongside freshman Tola Glowacka). Marice finished the season as the No. 2 ranked singles player in the Northeast Region and was a runner-up at the Super Regional Singles Championships.
Sophia Edwards returns to action after qualifying for Super Regionals in the fall. The senior captain went 20-13 in singles competition last year, earning her first career ITA National Singles Ranking on Apr. 11 at No. 124.
Natalie Eordekian looks to carry her momentum from an impressive fall season, going 8-3 in singles competition and 5-3 in doubles. The sophomore posted 12-9 singles and 6-3 doubles records during the 2022-23 season, winning an ACC Tournament singles match in straight sets against Louisville
Juniors Stephanie Sanchez and Muskan Mahajan also return for the Eagles this spring. Sanchez and Mahajan posted three ACC singles victories last season. Muskan put together a 5-3 spring doubles record last season.
Freshman Tola Glowacka and graduate student Nada Dimovska comprise BC's newcomers for the academic year. Glowacka shined in fall competition, going 9-2 in singles action and 8-3 in doubles, including a 4-2 doubles record alongside Dimovska. Nada posted a 6-5 singles record along with an 8-2 doubles record this fall.
Last year's matchup against Harvard resulted in a 3-4 loss, with Marice Aguiar, Natalie Eordekian, and Seren Agar claiming victories in singles competition for Boston College.
