April 08, 2023 | Rowing
BC claimed victory in seven-of-eight races this week
BOSTON -- The Eagles wrapped up a dominant week of action with a sweep of MIT and Eastern Michigan this Saturday morning on the Charles River. Boston College finished the week claiming first place in seven-of-eight total races in addition to two second-place performances.
BC's 1V set the tone right out of the gate - finishing the course in 7:03.5 to secure the first victory of the day. MIT (7:09.6) would follow just 6.1 seconds after in a second-place effort, with Eastern Michigan coming in third (7:28.2).
The 2V would see a nearly identical margin of victory for the Eagles - finishing 5.8 seconds ahead of MIT in another tightly-contested bout between the two programs.
A dominant performance by Boston College's V4 boat (8:25.3) gave the Eagles their third win of the day, outpacing MIT (8:51.3) by 26 seconds and Eastern Michigan (9:00.5) by 35.2 seconds.
The Eagles' 3V (7:34.1) and 4V (7:39.1) boats took to the water next - finishing within five seconds of each other to place first and second respectively. BC's depth was too much for the opposition, defeating Eastern Michigan (8:26.3) by 47.2 seconds and MIT (9:18.6) by 1:39.5.
