Eagles pick up key conference win ahead of regular season finale on Sunday
LOUISVILLE -- The No. 41 Boston College Eagles took down Louisville 7-0 on Friday night, earning a critical conference victory with the ACC Tournament coming up next week.Â
The Eagles went up 1-0 with doubles wins at No. 1 and No. 3. Boston College's top duo of Marice Aguiar and Laura Lopez won 6-4 and Sophia Edwards and Stephanie Sanchez clinched the point with a 7-5 win at No. 3.Â
Aguiar added another win to her stellar singles resume, winning in straight sets, 7-5, 6-4 at No. 1. Sophia Edwards, who earned an ITA singles ranking this week, battled back to win her final two sets at No. 3 singles to earn the point. Stephanie Sanchez, Seren Agar, and Natalie Eordekian all picked up three-set singles wins in the shutout, as did Laura Lopez who won her first set 6-1 before her opponent retired.Â
The Eagles will conclude the regular season on the road at Notre Dame on Sunday ahead of the ACC Tournament next week.Â
