Boston College Upsets Wake Forest On Friday Night

Eagles will look to continue momentum Sunday at N.C. State
WINSTON SALEM, N.C. — The No. 45 Boston College Eagles took down No. 27 Wake Forest on Friday night, earning the upset win with a 5-2 victory on the road.
The Eagles opened the scoring in doubles with victories from Hailey Wilcox and Seren Agar, and Sophia Edwards and Stephanie Sanchez on courts two and three. The top doubles team of Marice Aguiar and Laura Lopez played to a 4-5 match before BC clinched the point.
Seren Agar and Muskan Mahajan provided a spark in singles, both winning their matches in straight sets to put the Eagles up 3-2.
Marice Aguiar clinched the upset win for Boston College at No. 1 singles. Aguiar, at No. 71 in Division One singles rankings, upset No. 41 Cassie Wooten, battling back from a set down to seal the victory in three sets, adding another accomplishment to her stellar spring campaign.
Sophia Edwards added insurance for BC at No. 3 singles, winning in a third-set tiebreak to close out the match.
The Eagles will continue their road trip Sunday at N.C. State.
