Margo Carlin And Kendall Hanlon Will Return For Fifth Year
March 17, 2023 | Field Hockey
The returning captains have played in every game the last two years for the Eagles
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. — Boston College Field Hockey will return two key contributors to next year's team: Kendall Hanlon and Margo Carlin.
Hanlon and Carlin were both named team captains this year, and after starting every game for the Eagles as seniors in 2022, they will come back to The Heights for their graduate seasons.
"I am thrilled to have Margo and Kendall back for their fifth year," said head coach Kelly Doton. "They epitomize what it means to be a Boston College Field Hockey player with their actions both on and off the field. They work extremely hard, are great leaders for their teammates, and are willing to do anything to win. When you combine all areas of who they are as people and as hockey players, there's no question we are a better team with Margo and Kendall on the roster."
Margo Carlin, a three-time First-Team All-American and member of the 2022 US U-21 Women's National Team, finished 2022 with seven goals and four assists, second on the team in goals and points, and tied for the team lead in assists. Carlin also garnered selections to the NFHCA Northeast Region First Team and All-ACC First Team, on top of a Preseason All-ACC selection prior to the season. She will finish her undergraduate degree in May with a degree in Applied Psychology and Human Development.
Kendall Hanlon has anchored the Boston College midfield over the past two seasons, appearing in every game the last two years, starting 33 of 36 possible games over that span. In 2021, Hanlon was named to the NFHCA Division One National Academic Team, and in 2022, she received Top 6 for Service recognition at the Golden Eagle Awards, recognizing her commitment to serving her community. Hanlon will complete her undergraduate studies in May with a degree in General Management.
The Eagles' spring schedule is currently underway, with spring scrimmages to begin next month.Â
