
Eagles and Huskies Battled it out in Connecticut.

STORRS, Conn. - The Boston College women's hockey team battled it out in a top-15 matchup against UConn.
Sammy Smigliani carried over her scoring success from Friday's game against Providence. Smigliani put away a goal five minutes into the first period, which was the lone goal for the first period.
Heading into the second period, the Eagle's offense continued to put pressure on the Huskies. Katie Pyne created a breakaway and scored seven minutes into the second period, giving Boston College a 2-0 edge. Grace Campbell came up big for the Eagles, making a very important save with only a couple of seconds left in the second period.
UConn was able to close the gap, scoring early into the final period. With a minute left in regulation, the Huskies pulled the goalie and were able to sneak one past the Eagles with 35 seconds left in the third period.
During overtime, neither team was able to finish the game, sending it to shootouts to determine who gets the extra point for Hockey East standings. Kaite Pyne and Molly Jordan scored to secure the extra point for Boston College.

- BC only had 24 shots, while the Huskies saw 30 in tonight's game.
- Morgan Trimper, Caroline Goffredo and Keri Clougherty were able to get in front of the puck to block a shot.
- This game saw three penalties in total. Neither team was able to convert on their power play attempts.
- UConn and BC are now tied in Hockey East standings heading into the break. BC will hold the tied breaker.
