Eagles Defeat Hurricanes in Five

Katrina Jensen leads the way with 21 kills for the Eagles, winning by scores of 18-25, 25-23, 25-19, 21-25, and 15-12.
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass.– The Boston College Volleyball team defeated Miami in five sets at home Saturday afternoon on Senior Day. The Eagles record moves to 19-13 overall and 8-10 in the ACC to finish regular season play.
Miami claimed the first set early taking a 8-1 run to secure the set, 25-17. The second set was back-and-forth, the Eagles tied the score 11 times, exchanging the lead five. BC hit .414 on the set to the Hurricanes .297, taking the second set 25-23. The Eagles momentum continued into the third with senior outside hitter Katrina Jensen leading the way with five kills , BC took the set 25-19. The Hurricanes responded in the fourth with a 25-21 win. The Eagles clinched the afternoon on a Jensen kill with a decisive 15-12 final set.
Jensen led the afternoon with 21 kills on 43 attacks, hitting .372 on the afternoon. Jensen tacked on two blocks totaling 22 points for the Eagles. Freshman outside hitters Halle Schroder and Audrey Ross both had double digit kills, 12 and 10 respectfully. Schroder added on 12 digs and two blocks. While Ross added on seven digs, two blocks, and one service ace.
Senior libero Anna Murphy led the afternoon with 25 digs, plus a service ace. Senior setters Sophia Lambros and Grace Penn added on 52 assists, Lambros led with 31. Junior Julia Haggerty led the Eagles with seven blocks and two service aces adding on five kills.
For the match, BC hit .201 (57 kills/26 errors/154 attempts) and registered nine service aces.
