PC and BC Battle to 1-1 Tie

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Sam Smith scored in the 81st minute to pull the Boston College women's soccer team even with Providence College, as the Eagles battled the Friars to a 1-1 tie on Thursday night at Chapey Field.

Providence took a 1-0 lead in the 28th minute and held that edge through halftime. Smith then put home her team-leading fifth goal of the season and 50th career point in the 81st minute to give the game the 1-1 final.

Providence College held the 12-7 lead in shots.
The Friars had an 8-7 edge in corner kicks.
Eagles' goalkeeper Wiebke Willebrandt made a season-high seven saves in moving to 4-1-2.
