
Eagles Fall at Florida State

BC hosts Louisville next Saturday at noon at Alumni Stadium
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Boston College dropped a 44-14 decision on Saturday at Florida State.
The Seminoles returned the opening kickoff 93 yards for a touchdown and found the end zone on the next two series, making it 21-0 with 6:05 left in the opening quarter. FSU converted a 30-yard field goal to start the second quarter and closed the half with a 31-yard TD strike, making it a 31-0 lead at the break.
Florida State pushed it out to 37-0 with 9:19 left in the third, using four plays to drive 90 yards for the score.
The Eagles got on the board with 3:31 left in the third, as Phil Jurkovec connected with Alex Broome on a five-yard pass for the TD, making it 37-7. It was Broome's first career reception and first career touchdown. Jurkovec finished the game completing 15 of 23 passes for 105 yards, a TD, and two interceptions.
FSU tacked on another touchdown with 9:30 to play, making it 44-7.
Zay Flowers led the Eagles with 7 catches for 45 yards. Patrick Garwo rushed 9 times for 41 yards, while Xavier Coleman rushed 5 times for 44 yards. Defensively, VinnyDePalma led BC with 11 tackles. Freshman quarterback Emmett Morehead entered the game with 9:30 left in the game, completing 3 of 6 passes for 35 yards, and one touchdown, trimming the deficit to 44-14 with under a minute to play.Â
With the loss, Boston College falls to 1-3 on the season and 0-2 in ACC play.
Boston College returns to action next Saturday, Oct. 1 at Alumni Stadium when it hosts Louisville. Kickoff is set for noon on Family Weekend and the game will air live on ACC Network.
