BC adds nine freshmen and three graduate transfers to the squad

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Boston College men's hockey has released its roster for the upcoming 2022-23 season, including nine freshmen and three graduate transfers for a total of 12 new players.

Mitch Benson
G | 6-1 | 185 | Gr. | Windsor, Ontario | Colgate (ECAC)
• Played three seasons in four years at Colgate in the ECAC, missing 2020-21 due to COVID-19
• Closed his Colgate career with a 2.48 goals against average and a .918 save percentage in 71 games
• Went 10-7-3 with a 2.39 GAA and a .922 SV% in 20 games as a senior during the 2021-22 season
• Had his best statistical season in 2019-20 as a sophomore with a 2.08 GAA and a .925 SV%
• Four-time member of the ECAC All-Academic Team

Cam Burke
F | 5-10 | 176 | Gr. | Boxborough, Mass. | Notre Dame (BIG TEN)
• Played four seasons at Notre Dame in the Big Ten
• Skated in 120 career games for the Fighting Irish with 15 goals and 15 assists
• Collected a career-high eight goals and 19 points in 38 games as a senior in 2021-22
• Was a three-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree and won a Big Ten Championship as a freshman in 2019
• Spent two seasons in the USHL for the Bloomington Thunder (2016-17), Central Illinois Flying Aces (2017-18) and Sioux Falls Stampede (2017-18)

Paul Davey
F | 6-2 | 181 | Fr. | Greenwich, Conn. | Des Moines (USHL)
• Played two seasons for the Des Moines Buccaneers in the USHL
• Finished with 18 points in 51 games during the 2021-22 season
• Posted nine goals and 18 points in 41 games in 2020-21
• Played the 2019-20 season at Avon Old Farms, collecting 19 points in 25 games
• Spent two years (2017-19) at Brunswick School with 24 points in 28 games in 2018-19

Andre Gasseau

• Drafted by the Boston Bruins in the seventh round (213th overall) of the 2021 NHL Draft
• Spent the 2021-22 season with the Fargo Force in the USHL
• Recorded a team-high 22 goals and 16 assists for 38 points in 60 games
• Had 27 points in 42 games for the U.S. Under-18 National Team in 2020-21
• Leading goal scorer at Shattuck-St. Mary's in 2019-20 with 33 goals and 29 assists in 45 games

Cutter Gauthier
F | 6-2 | 201 | Fr. | Scottsdale, Ariz. | USNTDP (USHL)
• Drafted with the fifth overall pick by the Philadelphia Flyers in the first round of the 2022 NHL Draft
• Finished with 34 goals and 31 assists for 65 points in 54 games with a plus-33 rating for the U.S. Under-18 Team in 2021-22
• His 34 goals ranked second overall on the Under-18 Team
• Won a silver medal with Team USA at the 2022 Under-18 World Championships with nine points in six games
• Posted 20 goals and 17 assists in 44 games for the U.S. Under-17 squad in 2020-21

Lukas Gustafsson
D | 5-10 | 190 | Fr. | Alpharetta, Ga. | Chicago (USHL)
• Posted 11 goals and 27 assists for 38 points in 59 games for the USHL's Chicago Steel during the 2021-22 season
• Finished the season with a plus-20 rating and 42 penalty minutes
• Won the 2021 Clark Cup as USHL Champions with Chicago, skating in 16 total games
• Played three years at Cushing Academy and served as team captain in 2020-21
• Had 44 points in 34 games during the 2019-20 campaign and was named Second Team All-New England

Oskar Jellvik
F | 5-11 | 174 | Fr. | Taby, Sweden | Djurgårdens IF (SHL)
• Drafted by the Boston Bruins in the fifth round (149th overall) of the 2021 NHL Draft
• Spent four years playing for Djurgårdens IF in Sweden
• In 41 games during the 2021-22 season, posted 26 goals and 29 assists for 55 points and a plus-20 rating
• Added five goals and nine points in six playoff games
• Won a J20 SM Silver Medal

Charlie Leddy

• Drafted by the New Jersey Devils in the fourth round (126th overall) of the 2022 NHL Draft
• Spent two years with the U.S. National Team Development Program
• Had 17 assists in 55 games and posted a plus-33 rating for the Under-18 Team during the 2021-22 season
• Won a silver medal with Team USA at the Under-18 World Championships
• Registered 12 points in 46 games for the Under-17 squad during the 2020-21 season

Christian O'Neill
F | 5-11 | 174 | Gr. | Westwood, Mass. | Princeton (ECAC)
• Played four seasons at Princeton in the ECAC
• Four-time member of the ECAC All-Academic Team and ECAC Student-Athlete Of The Year Top-12 Finalist in 2020-21
• Served as an assistant captain as a senior in 2021-22
• Ranked fifth on team with 12 points on two goals and 10 assists in 30 games
• Played the 2017-18 season for the USHL's Omaha Lancers with 14 goals and 33 assists in 60 games

Seamus Powell
D | 6-0 | 165 | Fr. | Marcellus, N.Y. | USNTDP (USHL)
• Younger brother of Eamon Powell who played two seasons with the U.S. National Team Development Program
• Had 14 points and a plus-25 rating in 58 games for the Under-18 Team in the 2021-22 season
• Helped Team USA capture the silver medal at the Under-18 World Championships
• Posted nine points in 45 games for the Under-17 Team in 2020-21
• Finished with a 17-31-48 scoring line in 63 games for the Rochester Selects AAA in 2019-20

Dylan Silverstein
G | 6-0 | 180 | Fr. | Calabasas, Calif. | USNTDP (USHL)
• Posted a 10-7-0 record in 20 games for the U.S. Under-18 Team during the 2021-22 season
• Finished with a 3.52 goals against average and a .878 save percentage with two shutouts
• Went 10-2-0 in 16 games for the U.S. Under-17 squad in 2020-21
• Played at Dexter Southfield in 2019-20 with a 2.45 GAA in 21 games

Will Traeger
F | 5-7 | 165 | Fr. | Mendota Heights, Minn. | Jersey (NCDC)
• Won the 2022 NCDC Championship with the Jersey Hitmen
• Closed the season with 42 points (10-32-42) in 46 games
• Added five points in seven games during the playoff run and was recognized as an NCDC All-Star
• Registered 25 points in 49 games for the Minnesota Wilderness (NAHL) in 2020-21
• Named to the NAHL All-Rookie Second Team
