Walk Named to Canada Soccer Roster for FIFA U-20 World Cup

Sonia Walk has been named to the Canada Soccer Women’s U-20 roster for the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup.
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. –Boston College women's soccer junior Sonia Walk has been named to the Canada Soccer Women's U-20 roster for the upcoming FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup in Costa Rica.
Walk is one of 21 players named to the squad that will travel to Costa Rica next month and be amongst the 16 nations participating in the biennial FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup Costa Rica 2022, which is set to begin Aug. 10.
Canada is in Group C and will face Korea Republic on Thursday, Aug. 11, France on Sunday, Aug. 14 and Nigeria on Wednesday, Aug. 17. All of Canada's matches will be broadcast live on TSN and RDS.
Walk, a Toronto, Ontario native, was a part of the U-20 roster for the 2022 Concacaf Women's Under-20 Championship back in February when Canada earned its spot in the World Cup. She also represented Canada at the 2020 Concacaf U-20 Championships and was a member of Canada's U-17 team that was a semifinalist at the 2018 Women's World Cup as well as the 2016 U-15 Concacaf Tournament silver medalist team. Walk played in all 18 of BC's contests in 2021. She logged 1,327 minutes, good for third among BC field players, and she played at least 75 minutes in 12 games.
