
Dirk Vandeveer Joins BC Staff

Vandeveer comes to the Heights with 15 years of collegiate coaching experience.
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Boston College women's soccer head coach Jason Lowe has announced the addition of Dirk Vandeveer as an assistant coach ahead of the 2022 season.

"Dirk is a fantastic addition to our staff," said Lowe. "He is an energetic and experienced coach who is passionate and creative in his approach to player development."
Vandeveer comes to the Heights with 15 years of collegiate coaching experience, including serving as an assistant coach at George Mason (2009-21) and Norwich University (2005-08).
"I am really grateful to be joining the Boston College family," said Vandeveer. "When Coach Lowe reached out, I knew right away that I wanted to be part of this special program. His coaching style and vision correspond with my goals and aspirations. I look forward to bringing my knowledge and passion to Boston College and to helping our student athletes compete at the highest level, on the field and in the classroom."

At George Mason, Vandeveer trained goalkeepers and field players in skill development while also assisting with practices and other day-to-day operations of the program. Vandeveer also spent eight seasons as the recruiting coordinator for the Patriots. Additionally, the Bad Kreuznach, Germany native served as the goalkeeping director for BRYC ECNL Girls Soccer and worked with the Bethesda Soccer Club, Loudoun Soccer Club and GK Icon.

"Dirk and I are fortunate to have a mutual mentor in (former George Mason & Alabama Head Coach) Todd Bramble so we share a vision on how to bring out the best in our goalkeepers and defensive unit," Lowe added. "We have really talented keepers on our roster and in our recruiting pipeline and I can't wait for him to start working with them. I'm excited to welcome Dirk, his wife Amanda and son Devan to Boston College!"
Vandeveer was a four-year member of the Norwich University men's soccer team from, helping lead the Cadets to three Great Northeast Athletic Conference titles and three NCAA Division III Tournament appearances. He earned two First Team All-Conference honors along with two Second Team All-Conference honors. After graduating from Norwich in 2005 with a degree in International Studies, Vandeveer spent three seasons as an assistant coach of the Norwich women's soccer and lacrosse teams.
Vandeveer played youth soccer for the professional club, 1. FSV Mainz 05. Vandeveer also played semi-professional soccer with SG Eintracht Bad Kreuznach and was also a regular participant of the Olympic Development Program Europe Soccer team.
Vandeveer has an NSCAA Premier Diploma and a NSCAA National Goalkeeping Diploma.
