
North Named One of Five Finalists for Tewaaraton Award

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - For the second year in a row, Boston College women's lacrosse senior Charlotte North was named as one of the five finalists for the 2022 Tewaaraton Award.Â
Last season's Tewaaraton Award winner, North is aiming to be the first back-to-back recipient of the honor since Taylor Cummings (Maryland) won it three straight times from 2014-16Â . She joins Jamie Ortega (UNC), Ally Mastroianni (UNC), Meaghan Tyrrell (Syracuse) and Aurora Cordingley (Maryland) as the final five players.Â
North is having another stellar season, where she is first in the ACC and fourth nationally with 75 goals, while she is third in the nation and 10th in the conference with 90 points.Â
The Dallas, Texas native was named First-Team All-ACC after her impressive season. She has registered 13 hat tricks, including seven games with at least five goals and three outings with seven. She also has 123 draw controls on the season, which is 4th in the conference. North is one of three players in the nation with at least 70 goals and 100 draw controls.Â
Going into Sunday's NCAA Tournament contest between the winner of Vermont/Denver, she is tied with Courtney Murphy (Stony Brook) for the NCAA all-time record in goals scored with 341. North is second in school history with 353 draw controls, second in goals with 200 and seventh in points with 243.Â
The Tewaaraton recipients will be chosen at the conclusion of the 2022 college lacrosse season by selection committees comprised of premier college coaches who are appointed annually by the Tewaaraton Foundation.
