Eagles pick up third straight win with three matches left in regular season

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. -- Back at home after their second straight win on Tuesday, the Eagles secured their third straight victory over Cornell, taking down Cornell 4-1 on Thursday night.

The Eagles went up 1-0 in doubles, with Plobrung Plipuech and Stephanie Sanchez getting it started with a 6-3 win, and Laura Lopez and Marice Aguiar, who landed at No. 35 in the latest national doubles rankings, battled back to clinch the point with a 7-5 win of their own.

Lopez kept it rolling with a straight set singles victory, and her doubles teammate followed suit with a singles victory of her own to put BC up 3-0. Sophia Edwards eventually clinched the match with a dominant 6-1, 6-1 singles win, ending Senior Day with a bang.

The Eagles face three conference tests on the road to close the regular season, with the next match coming this Sunday at Syracuse at 11:00 a.m.
