CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – The Boston College rowing team is set to compete in the Lake Wheeler Invitational this weekend on Lake Wheeler in Raleigh, N.C., starting Friday, April 22 and concluding on Saturday, April 23.

The event, which is co-hosted by North Carolina and Duke, will feature 16 teams, including six ACC schools that the Eagles will see in less than a month at the ACC Championship. This marks the second consecutive spring that BC is competing in the Lake Wheeler Invitational.

ABOUT THE LAKE WHEELER INVITATIONAL
-The event, which is co-hosted by North Carolina and Duke at Lake Wheeler in Raleigh, NC., will feature 16 teams, with BC racing against Boston University, Bucknell, Clemson, Duke, Georgetown, Syracuse, University of Central Florida, Kansas, Louisville, Miami, Oklahoma, North Carolina, Penn, Temple and the U.S. Naval Academy.
-This marks the third year of the event … the Blue Devils won the inaugural Lake Wheeler Invitational in 2019 and defended the title in 2021.

ABOUT LAST WEEKEND
-The Eagles raced against MIT and Sacred Heart on the Charles River this past weekend, winning three of the four heats on the day.
-After BC's first varsity eight boat fought to a second-place finish in the first race of the morning, BC's 2V8 boat took first in the second.
-The Varsity Four race saw the V4B boat take first and the V4 finish second.
-In the final race of the windy morning, BC's 3V took first the and the 3V4 finished second.
UP NEXT
-The Eagles will race in the Eastern Sprints next weekend on Lake Quinsigamond in Worcester.
