Comeback Falls Short Against Irish

WEYMOUTH, Mass. -- The Eagles comeback effort came up just short on Friday night, as the Irish took down the Eagles 4-3 with the result coming down to the final singles match. After Notre Dame pulled ahead 1-0 in doubles, Boston College stormed back, with Marice Aguiar, Natasha Irani, and Sophia Edwards all winning their singles matches in straight sets. The Irish battled back and eventually pulled away in the final set of the final singles match to seal the victory.

"This was a great college tennis match. Both teams gave it everything they had," said head coach Nigel Bentley. "We have had so many super close matches against Notre Dame and this was another very tight one. Doubles continues to be a problem for us. We are simply making too many errors. But in singles we competed well. We now need to regroup and get ready for Louisville on Sunday."

The Eagles will look to rebound against Louisville on Sunday morning.
