Hockey East Tabs Flynn for Army ROTC Defender of the Week

The rookie blue liner helped BC to a two-win weekend.
AMESBURY, Mass. – Hockey East announced on Monday that Boston College women's hockey defender Cailin Flynn has been named the league's Army ROTC Defender of the Week.
Flynn helped the Eagles to a sweep of Holy Cross in a home-and-home series this past weekend, as BC picked up 2-1 road win on Friday and a 4-2 win at home on Saturday.
The Woburn, Mass. native potted her second goal of the season in the second period of Friday's 2-1 overtime victory. Flynn went on to finish the weekend with four shots on goal and three blocked shots while helping the Eagles' penalty kill unit go 4-for-4 against the Crusaders.
Flynn currently sits third overall in Hockey East and first among league rookies with 32 blocked shots. Her 32 blocks tie for 14th overall in the nation.
This marks the first career weekly honor for Flynn.
