Hreschuk and Gauthier Named to Camp Roster for U.S. National Junior Team

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Sophomore defenseman Aidan Hreschuk and freshman forward Cutter Gauthier were among 32 players named by USA Hockey on Monday afternoon to the preliminary roster for the 2023 U.S. National Junior Team.
The group will gather for a training camp at USA Hockey Arena in Plymouth, Michigan from Dec. 12-17. Players are auditioning for a spot on the final 23-player roster that will represent the U.S. in the 2023 IIHF World Junior Championship Dec. 26, 2022 – Jan. 5, 2023 in Moncton, New Brunswick and Halifax, Nova Scotia.
Both Hreschuk and Gauthier played for the U.S. National Team Development Program before coming to Boston College. Hreschuk has played in all 14 games this season for the Eagles and is tied for second on the team with 17 blocked shots.
Gauthier is tied for the Hockey East lead and ranks ninth nationally in goals per game. He leads the team in goals (8), points (12) and power play goals (4) as a freshman and was named the Hockey East Rookie of the Week on Monday.
Boston College has seen 10 different players earn a total of 11 gold medals in the history of the World Junior Championship. The United States has medaled in five of the last seven tournaments, winning gold in Edmonton two years ago with Matt Boldy, Drew Helleson and Spencer Knight on the roster.
