Hannah Bilka Named Hockey East Player of the Month

The captain led the league in scoring with 17 points off of eight goals and nine assists.
AMESBURY, Mass. – Boston College women's hockey senior Hannah Bilka has been named the Hockey East Player of the Month, as announced Wednesday by the league.
Bilka put up 17 points on eight goals and nine assists in the opening month of the season, which led Hockey East and tied for sixth nationally. The forward registered at least one point in nine of BC's 10 contests and had multiple points in five of them. In conference play, Bilka led Hockey East in both points (13) and points per game (2.17).
Bilka's plus-14 rating was good for second in Hockey East while her 49 shots on goal marked the fifth-most in the league. She had at least one shot on goal in all 10 games and fired at least five shots on goal in seven contests. The captain, who also registered three blocked shots, scored one short-handed goal and one game-winning goal on the month.
Bilka, who was named the Hockey East Player of the Week three times in September/October, is currently riding an eight-game point streak and a three-game goal scoring streak. The Coppell, Texas native registered her third career four-point game and became the 22nd player in program history to reach 100 career points with a two-goal, two-assist outing in a win at Boston University on Oct. 22. In the first month of the season, Bilka has become the 30th player in program history to reach 50 career assists, the 25th player to join the 40-goal, 40-assist club and the 22nd player to reach 100 career points.
This is the first career Player of the Month honor for Bilka.
Bilka was also a runner-up for Hockey Commissioners Association National Player of the Month.
