October 24, 2022 | Rowing
BOSTON – The Boston College rowing team raced four boats in the 57th Head of the Charles this past weekend.
On Saturday, Oct. 22, the Club 4+ and the two Club 8+ boats took the course. The Club 4+ put together a strong showing and finished with a time of 18:45.98 for a fifth-place finish out of 50 total crews. The first Club 8+ to cross the finish line for Boston College came in ninth place out of 40 boats with a time of 16:55.46, fending off Kansas (16:55.93) in the last moments of the race. The second Club 8+ placed 22nd, completing the course in 17:28.39.
On Sunday, Oct. 23, the Champ 4+ charged their way to a fifth-place finish out of 14 crews. The crew completed the course in a formidable 17:48.50; which is about 9.40 better than last year's Champ 4+ time.
Since three out of the four Eagles' boats placed in the top halves of their respective events, those crews will automatically qualify to race next year.

Boston College will return to the Charles River on November 12 to compete in the Foot of the Charles.
