CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Boston College lacrosse attacker Charlotte North, the reigning Tewaaraton Award winner, has been announced as Inside Lacrosse's ACC Preseason Offensive Player of the Year.
Already named a preseason first team All-American by both IL and USA Lacrosse Magazine, North is poised for a repeat campaign of her record-breaking 2021 season.
Last year, a consensus All-American, North broke the NCAA record for goals in a season (102), en route to leading BC to its first-ever national championship. A native of Dallas, she boasted a .630 shooting percentage, while adding 12 assists for 114 points on the year. She also had the second-most draws in a single season by a BC player with 174.
North played some of her best lacrosse late in the season, breaking the record for goals in an NCAA Tournament with 31. The previous record was 23. She was also second in the nation in points and third in the nation in draws. On April 10, North broke the BC and ACC record for goals in a game with 10, while also tying the record for goals in a national title game with six.
North become one of two players ever to record over 105 points and 150 draw controls in a single season. The other being Sam Apuzzo '19 in both 2018 and 2019.
North and the Eagles open the 2022 season on Saturday, February 12 at noon in Chestnut Hill at Fish Field House.
