Eagles Compete at the Battle in Beantown

BC led by James Wilkes, who covered the eight-kilometer course in 25:56
BOSTON, Mass. — Boston College competed at the Coast-to-Coast Battle in Beantown on Friday at Franklin Park.
James Wilkes was the team's top finisher, crossing the line in 78th place in a time of 25:56 for the eight-kilometer course. Teammate David Scherrer was close behind, clocking 26:02 good for 83rd place. Andrew Healey finished in a time of 26:53 (127th), followed by John Wacker in 26:58 (129th). Edward Tristine rounded out the BC finishers in 27:45 (152nd). As a team, BC finished in 17th place. No. 6 ranked Arkansas took the team title, placing four runners in the top six.
In the open 5K, John Fitzpatrick led the way for Boston College, clocking 16:27 in 21st place. Brian Pedretti was 26th (16:34) and John Carter was 39th (16:45). A trio of Eagles - John Seiberlich (16:48), Eero Helenius (16:49), and Gordon Pollock (16:51) - finished 42nd, 43rd, and 44th, respectively. Will Purnell crossed the line in 17:05 (49th).
