Eagles Place 13th at Coed National Championships

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The Boston College sailing team finished 13th overall out of 18 schools at the ICSA Coed National Championships on Tuesday to close out the 2021 college season.Â
The Eagles completed the two-day regatta with a total of 368 and won a tiebreaker over the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy with more high-place finishes. Navy hosted the event and won the coed national title as the Midshipmen posted a total of 210.Â
BC was 10th overall in the B Division with Jack DeNatale, Michaela O'Brien and senior captain Elizabeth Russell, who competed in her final collegiate regatta. The trio helped Boston College win the sixth race out of 18 and earn second in two other races.
The team of Robert Hunter, Michaela O'Brien, Colleen O'Brien, Emma Batcher and Laura Ferraris competed in the A Division and earned their top finish with second place in the second race.Â
