Aguiar and Long Named to All-ACC Academic Team

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Freshman Marice Aguiar and senior captain Yufei Long were both named to the All-ACC Academic Women's Tennis Team on Tuesday.
Aguiar went 6-9 overall as a rookie in singles, including five victories in ACC competition. She finished with a 6-6 doubles record and closed the season ranked 68th nationally in doubles with Laura Lopez. Aguiar was named the ACC Women's Co-Freshman of the Week on March 16 following an undefeated weekend against Florida State and Miami.
Long was selected to the All-ACC Third Team for the second time in her career. She finished the season with an overall singles record of 4-11, playing primarily in the No. 1 slot for the Eagles. Long closed the year ranked 58th nationally in doubles with Kylie Wilcox, including a 6-2 victory over No. 29 Emmanuelle Salas and Victoria Allen of Florida State.
Requirements for selection to the All-ACC Academic Team are a 3.0 grade point average for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative GPA during one's undergraaduate career. Athletic achievements during the most recent season are also considered in selecting the All-ACC Academic Team.
