Chukwujekwu an ACC All-Academic Pick

BC middle blocker wraps up 2020-21 award season.

GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Boston College volleyball middle blocker Amaka Chukwujekwu (Laurel, Md.) was named to the ACC All-Academic Team on Thursday. A two-time All-ACC pick, this marks Chukwujekwu's first Academic Team honor.

Chukwujekwu earned her bachelor's degree in psychology from the Morrissey College or Arts and Sciences this spring. She completed her senior season by earning All-ACC Second Team honors for the second year in a row. She became just the second two-time honoree in program history and first since Allison Anderson (2005, 2006).

As a senior, Chukwujekwu tallied 1.16 kills per set on a team-leading .295 hitting percentage. She totaled 45 digs for a 0.76 per set average. She moved up four spots to second all-time at BC in total blocks with 391. Chukwujekwu is tied for the program record in block assists at 308 with Krystie Higgins (2009-12).

Chukwujekwu will return for a fifth season of eligibility in the fall.
