CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Following a record-breaking weekend, Charlotte North has been named the IWLCA Player of the Week.
North scored eight goals and added an assist to help BC defeat No. 5 Notre Dame, 21-10, in the NCAA Quarterfinal and give BC its fourth-straight final four berth. She also had seven draw controls and two ground balls on the day.
A native of Dallas, North now has 94 goals and 11 assists for 105 points, while also adding 170 draw controls. She is currently tied with Sam Apuzzo's 2019 season for the most goals in a single season at BC and is six off the NCAA record for goals.
The senior attacker has had one of the best NCAA Tournament's in history, scoring 23 goals in three games so far. The 23 goals are a new NCAA Tournament record, breaking Northwestern's Katrina Dowd's and Selena Lasota's record of 22 goals.
Recently named a Tewaaraton Award finalist, this is the third time North has been named IWLCA Player of the Week. She was also tabbed a first-team All-American by both USA Lacrosse Magazine and Inside Lacrosse.
North and the Eagles take on No. 1 North Carolina on Friday, May 28 at 12 p.m. in the NCAA Semifinal at Johnny Unitas Stadium in Towson, Md.
