Cayla Barnes Earns All-USCHO Second Team Honors

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Boston College defender Cayla Barnes has earned All-USCHO Division I Second Team honors, as announced Friday by U.S. College Hockey online.
Barnes, an AHCA Second Team All-American and Hockey East First Team All-Star selection this year, finished her third season at BC with 10 points on four goals and six assists while blocking a team-leading 36 shots. Barnes scored two game-winning goals for the Eagles and picked up two power play points while finishing with a plus-9 rating.
The Eastvale, Calif. Native also had 59 shots on goal to rank eighth nationally among blue liners. Barnes fired at least two shots on goal in 17 of her 19 games played during the 2020-21 season. The captain now has 56 career points on 14 goals and 42 assists, ranking 10th all-time in points and ninth all-time in goals by a BC defender.
This marks the second career All-USCHO honor for Barnes, who earned an All-Rookie Team nod in 2019.
