RALEIGH, N.C. – The Boston College rowing team got the Lake Wheeler Invitational underway on Friday with the first day of competition on Lake Wheeler in Raleigh, N.C.

-The Varsity Eight races kicked off the day, with BC's V8 taking third in the first heat in 6:45.645, trailing the winning Duke boat by 7.191 … in the V8 repechage, the Eagles (6:44.721) finished second to the University of Central Florida (6:41.514) and will now race in tomorrow's V8 Final 2 against North Carolina, Stetson and the Wisconsin lightweight crew.
-BC's 2V8 boat earned a third-place finish in its heat with a time of 7:00.093 … the Eagles then rowed to a second-place finish in the 2V8 repechage (7:01.768) and will now row in tomorrow's 2V8 Final 2 against North Carolina and Stetson.
