
Lake Wheeler Invitational Up Next for Eagles

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – The Boston College rowing team is set to compete in the Lake Wheeler Invitational this weekend on Lake Wheeler in Raleigh, N.C., starting Friday, April 23 at noon.

The event, which is co-hosted by North Carolina and Duke, will feature 12 teams. This marks the first time that Boston College will compete in the Lake Wheeler Invitational.
Additionally, the Eagles' 3V8 and 4s will race locally on Saturday on the Charles River against Brown, Boston University and Holy Cross.

ABOUT THE LAKE WHEELER INVITATIONAL
-The event, which is co-hosted by North Carolina and Duke at Lake Wheeler in Raleigh, NC., will feature 12 teams including Duke, North Carolina, Wisconsin, University of Central Florida, Clemson and Penn.
-This marks the second year of the event … the Blue Devils won the inaugural Lake Wheeler Invitational in 2019.

ABOUT LAST WEEKEND
-The Eagles raced Holy Cross and UConn last weekend on the Charles River.
-BC swept the races on Sunday, with the Eagles' V8 finishing in 7:15 flat to retain the Irving-Christensen Cup.
-It was the third consecutive meeting between these three schools that saw BC sweep all the races and have the V8 keep the Irving-Christensen Cup.

UP NEXT
-The Eagles are scheduled to return to the Charles River next weekend for two days of racing.
-BC will host UMass and Boston University on Saturday, May 1 and then host Boston University, Northeastern and Rhode Island on Sunday, May 2.
-That will serve as the final weekend of racing before the ACC Championships at Lake Hartwell in Clemson, S.C. (May 14-15).
