Motlagh Victorious at No. 1 Singles Against Clemson

WEYMOUTH, Mass. – Boston College opened the last weekend of the ACC regular season with a match against Clemson on Friday afternoon at the Weymouth Club. The Eagles were defeated by the Tigers with a final score of 6-1.

BC's record drops to 2-11 (0-11 ACC), while Clemson moves to 8-13 (1-10 ACC).

The Tigers gained early momentum as Ryuhei Azuma and Spencer Whitaker defeated BC's Bennett Turner and Mason Fung in second doubles. The doubles point was later clinched by Carlos Kelaidis and Andrew Puscas. Max Motlagh and Will Coad were leading in No. 1 doubles 6-5 but the match went unfinished.

Clemson maneuvered its way through singles play with straight-set victories by Kelaidis, Giusca, Plans Gonzalez, and Whitaker. Mason Fung won his first set in the No. 3 singles slot, but ultimately fell in three sets. In first singles, Max Motlagh won his third set tiebreaker to register the only point for the Eagles on Court 1.
Boston College closes out the regular season against Georgia Tech on Sunday morning (April 18) at 10 a.m. on Senior Day at the Weymouth Club.
